PANAJI: The Laureate World Phaco system is a new high performance machine designed to deliver advanced ultrasound options and minimise surgical complications.

This system provides two modes for cataract lens extraction, a high performance ultrasound mode and the “Neosonix” mode for advanced cataracts. The unique “Neosonix” mode utilizes sonic oscillations in addition to traditional phaco to emulsify (dissolve) the hardest of cataracts. The Laureate Phaco system also features a new, non invasive optical pressure sensor that provides precise control during surgery. Surgeries can now be done through ultra small incisions (2.2 mm) that result in no astigmatism (wound distortion), faster healing and comfort, said a press release.
