Goa Tourism wins award for favourite leisure destination

PANAJI: Goa won the prestigious award for the most favourite Leisure Destination in a survey conducted by Condé Nast Traveller India, one of the World’s leading travel magazine. The Magazine announced the winners of the second edition of the Readers’ Travel Awards at The Oberoi, Gurgaon in Mumbai.

 Mr Dilip Parulekar, Minister for Tourism expressed happiness and satisfaction and felt that with this award reinforces the fact that Goa is now becoming an increasingly best preferred place in India to spend holidays. He further mentioned that Goa is a place where fun, entertainment and rejuvenation goes hand in hand. The place offers pristine and clean beaches, excellent night life for initiated ones. Gifted by god for its lovely and virgin beaches, scenic beauty and great co-existence of old and new culture, Goa is the ideal place for coming back again and again together, he added.

 The minister congratulated the stakeholders from tourism industry in Goa for their efforts to maintain good standard of tourism in Goa and stated that the state government has initiated various measures to improve the tourism infrastructure in the state to generate employment opportunities for the youth.

The award ceremony was attended by prominent personalities from tourism and hospitality industries such as Mr Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister of State for Tourism & Home, Jammu & Kashmir, Mr Parvez Dewan, Secretary Tourism, Govt of India, Mr Amitabh Kant -CEO and MD of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation etc.
