PANAJI: The Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) has forged ahead on various fronts, said its president Mr Cesar Menezes at the 102nd AGM. He said that it was indeed an honour to have been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Chamber and that as in previous years we recommit ourselves to deepen our membership engagement, address industry specific issues and push advocacy for driving reforms effectively in the state.
Mr Menezes gave an account of various
activities and issues taken up by the
chamber during the year. He said GCCI has
proposed a dynamic agenda for the ensuing year which would be taken up with the government
and the need to develop infrastructure to promote industry and tourism and demand for marinas, golf courses among other attractions for high end tourism.
He said that with a level playing field now emerging with reduction in excise duty and uniform VAT regime, Goa can soon make a comeback with more companies.
