Free CA coaching classes on trial basis

PANAJI: Observing an increase in the number of Goan students appearing for the entrance examinations for Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology, namely IIT-JEE and AIEEE, as well as common proficiency test, the qualifying examination conducted in June and December, every year by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Goa Edutech, a franchisee of ‘Arihant’ and ‘Ables’ has introduced coaching classes in the city, to train such students.

The noted education counselor, Ms Ranjana Kakodkar inaugurated the classes at the Emerald Towers, St Inez, on Monday. The classes conducted by ‘Arihant’, the leading national CA coaching institute and ‘Ables’, the leading IIT-JEE and AIEEE coaching institute from Kota, Rajasthan will be beamed via V-SAT based coaching programme in the city. Presently 400 to 500 Goan students annually appear for the CPT, 1,000 plus Goan students answer AIEEE, while 200 local students face IIT-JEE.

Mr Rohan Naik of Goa Edutech, later addressing a press conference said that the fees for CPT classes range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 26,000, and that for AIEEE is Rs 20,000, while the fees for IIT-JEE is Rs 40,000, all inclusive of specially prepared syllabus, and question banks. He also informed that special software would be made available to the students so that they can interact with the faculties conducting lectures, as also can contact the faculties on e-mail for their queries.

Ms Kakodkar, speaking on the occasion said that in the future, there would be less of actual classrooms and more of virtual classes. To familiarise students with this unique coaching method, the franchisee has offered free coaching classes on first three days, whereby students can experience and test how the classes are conducted. The classes will open on June 25.
