ESI beneficiaries to get smart cards

PANAJI: ESI Corporation has launched an ambitious computerisation project called ‘Project Panchdeep’ with an outlay of Rs 1300 crore and M/s Wipro is executing the contract under which all the ESI offices,

hospitals and dispensaries across the country are being networked and services to different stakeholders of the scheme like employers, insured persons and other beneficiaries are expected to improve substantially. As part of project, smart cards will be provided to the beneficiaries which will carry group family photography and biometry of the insured person and his family. Each insured person will get 2 smart cards one for himself and one for family so that the benefits under the scheme can be accessed and availed from any ESI facility across the country. For this purpose ESI Corporation is holding enrolment camps in its branch offices and also at the premises of Big Employers and industrial estates.
