GCCI to discuss labour issues

PANAJI: The Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry is organising an open house. Experts from the trade, industry, State and Central Government departments such as labour, provident fund, ESI, inspectorate of Factories & Boilers and General Health Insurance among others will participate. The Open House on Labour related issues will be held on Sept 30 at 10.30 a.m.

Frankfinn launches courses for graduates

MARGAO: Institute of Air Hostess Training has launched four new scientifically designed short term part time courses for graduates and 12th class pass students. According to Tourism Ministry, hotel sector is expected to be the second largest employer in the world by 2019. The Frankfinn Certificate course in airport ground service (3 months) and Frankfinn Certificate course in aviation and hospitality services (4 months) will prepare students for aviation and hospitality
industries.

PANAJI: Surya Roshni has become the largest G.I. pipes manufacturer in India with its units spread over Bahadurgarh (Haryana), Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Bhuj Gujarat and coming up in Shimoga Karnataka. Spandana disbursements cross Rs 15,000 cr mark

Mumbai : India’s second largest Micro Finance Company Spandana has crossed the cumulative disbursement mark of `.15,000 crores and as on August 31, 2010, Spandana’s cumulative disbursement stood at `.15,135 crore. These small loans are given to economically-active low-income households across rural and peri-urban areas which have a large, unmet demand for credit. Spandana, which has been successful in reaching out to a large section of the under-banked population, now touches the lives of over 50 lakh households.
