VASCO: The secretary to the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), government of India, Mr Bhaskar Chatterjee visited Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) in Vasco recently. During the visit, a presentation was made to Mr Chatterjee regarding the growth of GSL from a barge building yard to a shipyard capable of designing and building ships for the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard.

The secretary was also apprised of the modernisation plan and progress thereof. Rear Admiral (Retd) Vineet Bakhshi VSM CMD GSL conducted the Secretary, DPE for a walk around the shipyard and apprised him of the shipbuilding and ship repair activities vis-a-vis the ongoing projects for Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and Ministry of Home Affairs.
