PANAJI: DLF is investing in a big way in Goa - Rs 120 crore in housing project in Dabolim and has purchased 19 square metre of land in Panaji’s prime area Patto Plaza at Rs 15,000 per square metre.
Even though, the Goa bench of the Bombay High Court ordered a halt on any activity at the River Valley project in Dabolim, the DLF Homes is progressing, said Col Ravi Rajan, VP operations, Goa - Delanco Real Estate, to ‘The Navhind Times.’
He said, "Why should the case hamper the project, when everything is in place." Till date no court hearings have come up, he informed.
He said construction work of the Rs 120 crore DLF Homes on the hill slope River Valley project is schedule to start in April. Several tenders for the project have been floated in local and national papers, he said adding the project, to be completed in three years, is offering employment opportunities to people in the vicinity.
The DLF Homes project is sub-divided into four plots measuring 22,000 square metre. The blueprint of the project shows a shopping centre, indoor club complex, entertainment facilities include swimming, spa rooms, mini-theatre, dinning, bars and restaurants, a full-fledged shopping centre, and a joggers’
park.
Col Rajan said special contractors will be called for constructing a sewage treatment plant, probably for the first time in Goa.
It will be set up with guidance from the Goa State Pollution Control Board, other utility projects include solar panels for heating and lighting and rainwater harvesting and a garbage dump has been identified by the village panchayat. As part of its CSR, DLF intends to sponsor a Chicalim Youth Sport’s Club.
