PANAJI: Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition (DIMDEX 2010) was inaugurated under the auspices of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar. The event is hosted by Qatar Armed Forces and Qatar Emiri Naval Forces, QMDI following the successful inauguration of the first Defence Maritime conclave in 2008.

The event was held in Qatar from March 29 – 31, DIMDEX 2010 encompasses four major events - exhibition, conference, VIP delegations programme and visiting warships. Rear Admiral Vineet Bakhshi, VSM (Retd), chairman and managing director of Goa Shipyard Limited outlined the company’s diversified product range, it’s in-house design capabilities and the company’s vision to emerge as a leading player in the global defence maritime sector.
