MUMBAI: Tyre-maker, Bridgestone India, on Monday said it has increased its tyre prices by 3.5 per cent on the back of increased raw materials prices, effective from Monday.
“We have hiked tyre prices by 3.5 per cent from today onwards owing to an increase of raw material prices,” Bridgestone India’s general manager (Sales and Marketing), Mr Vaibhav Saraf, told reporters here.
“With prices of natural and synthetic rubber increasing substantially in the last 6-7 months, the company is compelled to increase its tyre prices,” Mr Saraf said.
The company took a call after steps taken by fellow players last week. Apollo Tyres, JK Tyre, CEAT and MRF have all announced hikes at around the same level as Bridgestone.
