Boutique Sol offers 5-star ambience

PANAJI: Amid the hype of beach hotels `here’ and five star city properties `there’, the newly built - The Sol boutique hotel ensconced on the banks of the Sinqurium River of lush green Nerul is offering customers five star ambience, so serene and cool.

A rush of tour operators and travel agents have signed up bookings, said Ms Sherin D’Souza, general manager on the sidelines of a press conference. The Sol had a soft launch in February is now fully open. With a huge capacity for further green landscaping, the 20-room designer luxury property comprises 16 double suites and 4 luxury rooms at an inaugural offer of Rs 6,000 all-inclusive with breakfast for the luxury rooms and Rs 9,900 all-inclusive with breakfast for the luxury suites.

Launched by King Arthur Hospitality and Solutions Ltd, The Sol is designed by internationally acclaimed fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani. Away from the city chatter, Sol is nestled in the calm and tranquillity of a region that was once a private getaway for Portuguese officials offering a dramatic view of the Candolim Church. Owned by Sun Leisure (India) Pvt. Ltd, The Sol is managed by King Arthur Hospitality and Solutions Ltd in technical collaboration with the Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ltd.

Mr Paresh Chaudhry director King Arthur said: "While Star Hotels in India are at par with their global competitors, there is a need of internationally acceptable boutique destinations in Goa. This gap will now be filled by The Sol which is upscale, full service, business and leisure hotel, yet moderately priced – the perfect choice for today’s discerning travellers."

With the clientele in mind, the fashion designer created The Sol to blend with landscape matching strong Goan influences with a Portuguese classical feel. Inward looking, the courtyard is the centre of all activity and becomes the hub of the building. Beautifully appointed, each room has the finest quality bed linen, eclectic furnishings and hand picked fittings. The colours are awash in beiges and ecru. The custom designed, hand-made flooring has Goan and Portuguese influences and the bathrooms sport Italian marble matched with deluxe fittings.

Other than the regular facilities, The Sol swanks with a tropical courtyard pool, a well stocked bar, a fine dining area serving not only international cuisines but also granny’s local favourites as well as a spa with paddy filled views for a calming and rejuvenating experience.
