Newly appointed managing director and chief executive officer of Bank of India, Atanu Kumar Das, visited the state soon after his appointment. Das took charge on January 20, at the bank zonal office, Patto Complex, as he was in the state for participating in Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour. Post meeting he travelled to Ponda to see first- hand the various CSR activities organised by the Goa zone.
Das spent some time with inmates of DILASA- Centre for Palliative Care for Terminally Ill (cancer patients,) managed by IMA Trust, Ponda. Later he presented a biodegradable recycler for incinerating medical waste and a TV in the patient’s room. The contribution was in the presence of bank officials, AK Pathak, Sulabha Rathod and Dr Pournima Usgaonkar, Dr Dattaram Desai, Dr Subhash Shikerker, trustees of IMA.
Das also visited old age home Sneh Mandir, Nageshi and gifted a water purifier in the presence of Suman Samant, manager, Santosh Shetye, trustee and senior citizens residing in the home. On the occasion a tree plantation drive was done towards greening the premises.
