Bengaluru FC convincingly beat Salgaocar FC

Taking full advantage of the defensive lapses of Salgaocar FC, Bengaluru FC registered a 3-1 win over their rivals in the AIFF Sub Junior Football League match in the opening final round group ‘D’ match played at Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda grounds on Monday.
Bengaluru FC scored through Chandan Biju (9th minute), Vinith Venkatesh (29th minute) and Rohit Negi (40th minute).
Salgaocar FC pulled a goal back through their captain Rui Noronha in the 44th minute in the 70-minute duration match.
Bengaluru FC went into the lead when the Salgacoar FC defence consisting of Hayden Fernandes and company was completely left napping, leaving Bengaluru FC overlapping defender Chandan Biju ample time to dash inside the box and slot the ball home to beat Salgaocar FC’s helpless keeper Akash Singh with ease.
Salgaocar FC could have taken the lead in the opening first five minutes of play but the well taken shot off Salvador Gama hit the post and came back into play. Salgaocar thereafter looked to have a better say in the match but only till Bengaluru FC took over – scoring their second goal in the 29th minute.
A free kick which was given in favour of Bengaluru FC team on the top of the box and it was converted by defender Vinith Venkatesh whose rising shot completely beat the Salgaocar FC keeper Akash Singh.
Leading by two goals at the break, Bengaluru FC had some easy moments. Though Salgaocar FC came up with counter forays, the Bengaluru FC defence comprising of Arjun Dintakurti, Vinith Venkatesh, Rohit Negi and Joshua Wilson stood firm.
Bengaluru FC keeper Priyansh Dubey had a good day under the bar. He thwarted attempts of Salgaocar’s captain Rui Noronha, Michael Dias and Salvador Gama.
Bengaluru FC scored their third goal through a free kick after Rohit Negi bulged the nets to beat the confidence losing keeper Akash with a powerful shot from the top of the box.
Salgaocar FC stitched some good moves thereafter and pulled a goal back through Rui Noronha who beat the Bengaluru FC’s keeper Priyansh Dubey.
