The Ultimate Bartender Championship an annual event was held in Varanda Do Mar, Panjim, recently. The Goa leg of the championship though will continue to Pune followed by Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Delhi and Chandigarh. The contest had daylong sessions on bartending skills of ingredient knowledge, mixing, pouring, and nosing and stock taking. Participants were tested on their unique techniques, insights, speed and skills behind the bar. This year, the competition has 550 contestants from the various parts of India competing for a spot in the global bartending event, The Athens Bar Show. The winner also takes home a very exclusive ride with a fully curated and customised 500 CC Bike.
Sachin Hargi won the Goa round of the Ultimate Bartender Championship after showcasing his prowess in the art of bartending. Commenting on his win Hargi, said, “I am very excited to win this contest as this gives me a chance to go to one of the biggest international bar shows.”
Winners Hargi and Vinod Dhara will go for the India Grand finale to be held on 28 June 2018 at New Delhi. The national winner of the grand finale will gain a coveted place in the championship at Athens.
