Bal Bhavan’s summer camp to begin from April 2

Bal Bhavan Panaji along with its 51 Bal Bhavan centres across Goa will organise their annual summer camp from April 2 to May 18. Admissions are open for children between 5 and16 years of age as on March 31. Children will be given admission on first come first serve basis.

Activities for children aged between 5 to 8 years will be conducted from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., while activities for children aged between 9 to 16 years will be from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30. Besides regular activities a special theatre activity will be conducted. The fee at Bal Bhavan Panaji is `300, rural centres is `60 and urban centres is `120.

Addressing a press conference in Panaji, chairperson of Bal Bhavan, Sheetal Naik said: “Every year we get a good response. So this year at Panaji centre we are expecting 900-1000 children, 200-400 children at urban area centres and 150-300 children at rural area centres.”

During the one and a half month, Bal Bhavan Panaji will offer activities such as drawing, craft, dance, harmonium, tabla, guitar, singing, clay modelling, creative writing, storytelling, computer classes and library facilities.

Other centres will have activities like drawing, draft, harmonium, tabla, dance and clay modelling. The special workshops such as theatre, vegetable carving, watercolour painting, paper bag making, artificial jewellery making, magic workshop, robotic, photography, innovative science, doll making, yoga classes, etc in Bal Bhavan and Bal Bhavan Kendras.
