Panaji: Central Ground Water Board, department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, government of India under the National Hydrology Project have organised a one-day training programme on ‘Awareness Raising Campaign’ on December 10 at Goa Science Centre, Miramar. The training programme is envisioned to create awareness among stakeholders of water resources in the state.
The awareness raising campaign is organised to train the officers from state government departments and representatives from water user groups and education institutions etc.
Shrikant D Patil, chief engineer, Water Resources Department, will inaugurate the campaign. Dr B K Purandara, scientist-F, National Institute of Hydrology, government of India and Madhav B Kelkar, director, directorate of Agriculture, will be the guest of honour. V Kunhambu, regional director, CGWB, SWR, Bengaluru will preside over the function and Dr A Subburaj, senior scientist will deliver the keynote address. The inaugural function will be followed by technical session covering the subjects of hydrogology, hydrometrology, hydrology, geophysics, water quality, aquifer management etc related to ‘Sustainable development and management of water resources in Goa.’
