CCP gets central pollution board notice over management of domestic sewage

PANAJI: Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued notices to commissioners of 184 municipalities including Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) to ensure proper management of domestic sewage. The board has asked the civic bodies to submit within 90 days a time-bound action plan for proper collection, treatment and disposal of sewage, the statement said.

Mormugao civic body to appoint financial advisor to help in collection of dues

VASCO: Newly-formed Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC), at its first special meeting, on Thursday, decided to appoint administrative-cum-financial advisor T K Pawse to guide the council in collection of long-pending dues amounting to around Rs 11-crore. Pawse was a finance controller of Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd (KTCL). The council also decided to pay him Rs 25,000 per month.
