Audi has updated the new A6 and the new engines, transmission and headlights, plus a new infotainment system makes the car more efficient, powerful, intuitive and sophisticated.
The new Audi A6 Matrix offers the progressive Matrix LED technology in the headlights. A bundle of 19 light-emitting diodes per headlight paired with four reflectors produce the high-beam light. Matrix LED headlights ideally illuminate the road ahead without dazzling other road users. Their control unit, which communicates with the camera on the rear view mirror, can switch the individual diodes off and on and dim them in 64 stages as needed.
Strength of the Matrix LED headlights is the intelligent cornering light, which is created by a shift in the light center position. With the optional MMI® navigation plus on board, the cornering light uses the route data to illuminate the curve shortly before the steering wheel is turned. Audi bundles the Matrix LED headlights with front and rear dynamic turn signals. The Audi A6 Matrix also offers safety features with eight airbags with rear side airbags. The car is 4.92 meters long and 1.87 meters wide, but just 1.46 meters high – the sportiest proportions in its segment.
The new Audi A6 features the logical ergonomic concept. The efficient four zone automatic air conditioning and the latest generation MMI® operating system are standard on the new Audi A6. The MMI® touch is also available with superior handwriting recongnition.
The new Audi A6 Matrix comes with a 2.0L TDI unit and the new Audi A6 35 TFSI Premium comes with a 1.8 TFSI unit delivering 140 kW (190 hp). Mated to the sleek seven-speed S tronic transmission the Audi A6 Matrix propels from 0-100 kmph in 8.4 seconds and the Audi A6 TFSI Premium propels from 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds.
The chassis with its sophisticated adaptive air suspensions also combines supreme comfort with sporty handling. The Audi drive select dynamic handling system is standard on the new Audi A6. The new 45.72 cm rotor wheels on the A6 sports dynamism even when standing still.
