A painting and drawing exhibition by Karnataka-based artist Shankar Kundagol (Masters in Fine Arts from Karnataka University), Dharwad, depicting the carvings at the Khajuraho temple, and pollution was recently inaugurated at Bambolkar Art Gallery, Ponda.
Speaking at the opening, artist Rajendra Karekar asserted that art shows in Goa showcasing works of artists from Karnataka will help to maintain the relation of the two states. “This exchange of thoughts through art help Goans learn from artists of Karnataka,” said Karekar.
Guest and senior artist from Karnataka, Mahalingappa A also congratulated the Kundagol. He requested the All Goa Kannada Sangha to support senior as well as junior artists from Karnataka in organising such art exhibitions as many cannot afford it. Such exhibitions he said helps artists to grow.
The exhibition was sponsored by Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru.
