HMD Global launched the Nokia 6 smartphone in India last month for `14,999. The company has now started registrations for the smartphone exclusively on Amazon. Only the registered customers will be eligible for sale starting August 23. The phone comes with 5.5-inch 2.5D curved Glass Display featuring 1920 pixels x 1080 pixels of resolution. The display also has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device comes with Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU. It runs on Android v7.1.1 Nougat and comes with 3GB RAM. The phone packs 32GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB. This hybrid dual SIM has 16-megapixel of rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and packs 8-megapixel of front-facing camera. Network features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS and USB OTG. The Nokia 6 device comes with a 3000 mAh built-in battery. The Nokia 6 comes in matte black, silver, tempered blue and copper colour options.
Around nine months ago, Facebook launched Messenger Lite, a streamlined version of its messaging service for people running slower connections. It gained popularity in more than 100 countries and this week, the social media giant announced its arrival in India. This app is no different from the parent version except with unnecessary bells and whistles. The app is ideal for folks running low on storage space and lower RAM. You can send texts, photos and links to anyone who uses Messenger, Messenger Lite or Facebook Lite. The app does not support voice and video calling and one cannot send GIFs either. The app is available on Google Play as ‘Messenger Lite.’
A few days ago, WhatsApp was testing a feature through which users can send any type of file on its platform. The update has now been pushed by WhatsApp which enables enhanced file sharing feature to all users on Android and iOS. Earlier only certain types of files could be shared on WhatsApp namely, .Doc, .Docx, .Pdf, .Ppt, .Pptx, .Rtf, .Txt, .Xls, .Xlsx and .Sv. One can now send any type of files. WhatsApp allows file sharing up to 100MB on Android and up to 128MB on iOS. There is another feature addition in the update which allows one to see the photos shared in a thumbnail gallery rather than seeing it in a column format.
