Albert Developers registered a 5-0 win over Cuncolim Union Sports Club in the GFA Vedanta Women’s League organised by GFA played at Duler ground on Friday.

After Friday’s win, Albert Developers have six points from two league matches while Cuncolim Union are yet to open their account.

In a one-sided encounter Albert Developers went into the breather with a two-goal lead. In the 8th minute, a solo run by Rizella Almeida was halted by Cuncolim’s Marina Rodrigues on top of the penalty box, prompting referee Celrich Almeida to award a free kick where Scindia Saundatikar’s strike was not cleanly collected by Cuncolim keeper Mayflower Colaco to find the ball roll into the goal, 1-0.

Albert eves increased their lead in the 19th minute when Scindia’s free kick was guided by Jozima Fernandes into the goal, 2-0.

At the strike of half an hour mark, Albert’s Mariat Cardozo would have netted the third with a header only to find keeper Mayflower bring a superb save.

Five minutes after crossing over, Albert colts further buttressed their lead when a Joizima’s strike rebounded of the post to see Mariat Cardozo tap the ball into the goal.

It did not take long for Albert eves to make it 4-0 where a long ranger from Rizella Almeida was too hot for Cuncolim keeper to hold, 4-0.

As the match progressed in the 59th minute a stinging free kick by Scindia had no answer from Cuncolim keeper to make it 5-0.

Player of the match was awarded by Rizella Almeida of Albert Developers.

Meanwhile in another match played in Ambelim, Linda Calado scored twice as defending champions Panjim Footballers returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Ambelim Sports Club in the second round of the Vedanta Women’s Football League at the Ambelim Grounds on Friday. Panjim Footballers opened the scoring in the 24th minute.

The Panjim side continued to press and play attacking football in the second half with Linda adding her second in the 55th minute to give her side a 2-0 lead.
