Administration in state has totally collapsed: Congress



President of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Girish Chodankar, on Saturday, called upon the President of India “to dismiss the defunct BJP-led government in the state as the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is incapable of running the administration.”

Chodankar was addressing a public meeting ‘Jan Aakrosh’, a taluka-wise awareness agitation launched by the Congress party against the BJP-led government in the state.

The meeting was attended by the Leader of Opposition Babu Kavlekar, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik, Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress president Pratima Coutinho, and others.

Speaking further, the GPCC president alleged that the administration in the state has totally collapsed, due to which the people have to suffer a lot.

He announced that the Jan Sampark Abhiyan will be launched by the party in the state from January 5.

Speaking further, Chodankar criticized the state government for boosting the sale of imported sand stacked at Meta Copper and Alloys Ltd (MCAL),  Upasnagar, Sancoale by imposing ban on locally extracted sand, thereby creating unemployment problem.

Coutinho in her speech said that Jan Aakrosh awareness agitation has drawn a good response  from the people.

She threatened to take to the streets with party workers, in case the state government opts for closing of the 3.2 kilometer stretch of NH66 from Cortalim junction to Sharayu Toyota showroom towards Verna in view of the construction work of new Zuari bridge.
