Founder of Museum Of Goa, Subodh Kerkar will deliver a lecture on the topic ‘Art and Architecture’, on January 6, 11:30 a.m. at Museum of Goa, Pilerne. Kerkar will speak about his career as an artist wherein, he has taken inspiration from various disciplines, including architecture, to create his art. He believes that the arts, be it visual, poetry or culinary, should always be in conversation with each other. In his talk, Kerkar will dwell on the ‘disconnect’ between art and architecture, notable in architectural institutions across the country, which he believes has adversely affected the aesthetics of the architecture as seen today.
Kerkar has exhibited widely in India and abroad. He also delivers talks on a variety of subjects. He was the guest of honour for the NATCON’18, the flagship event of IIID. Previously, he has delivered lectures across the world, including UCL London and the Van Gogh Museum – Amsterdam.
