Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that we all should accept the unanimous verdict of the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya land dispute case which was pronounced on Saturday.
Terming the verdict as a “historic judgment”, Sawant said, “We all should accept the unanimous verdict of the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya land dispute case and collectively work towards strengthening brotherhood amongst the communities.”
The Chief Minister expressed happiness that all Goans – irrespective of religion, caste and creed – have welcomed the SC verdict.
“Section 144 has been imposed in the state, and no untoward incident has taken place,” Sawant said, adding that he and his office has been in constant touch with the Director General of Police as well as both the district collectors.
The Congress said that it respects the SC verdict on the Ayodhya case, urging all communities to maintain peace and harmony.
“The Congress party respects the verdict of the Supreme Court in the Ayodhya case. All parties concerned and all communities should abide by the secular values and spirit of fraternity enshrined in our Constitution and should maintain peace and harmony,” Opposition leader Digambar Kamat said while interacting with media persons in Panaji.
In a video message shared on WhatsApp, Goa pradesh Congress committee president Girish Chodankar said, “It feels nice that the long-pending issue has been finally resolved. The Supreme Court needs to be thanked because the BJP was making Ayodhya a political issue during every election.”
