PANAJI: Five more persons have been convicted and sentenced to a jail term ranging from 1 day to 5 days for riding/driving under the influence of alcohol by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) while one person has been sentenced till rising of the court.
Out of the five persons, three persons Pravin Naik from Morjim Pernem, Shetan alias Sultan Nanedram from Rajasthan, Dattaram Jadhav, Marna Siolim have been sentenced to undergo five days (each) simple imprisonment.
The other two persons Rohan Sawant from Virlosa, Penha-de-France and Pankaj Verma from Shahjahanpur (UP) have been sentenced to undergo 1 day (each) simple imprisonment. Whereas, Sanju Vadyekar from Alorna Pernem- was sentenced till rising of the court, informed police. They have also been directed to pay fines ranging from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 (each).
