26-yr-old held with ganja at Marcel bus stand

PONDA: Police arrested a 26-year-old Marcel resident for illegal possession of narcotic substance worth Rs 40,000 on Wednesday. The accused is identified as Paresh Naik who was nabbed with ganja weighing 105 grams at the KTC bus stand, Marcel.

The accused person was nabbed at the Marcel bus stand while he was waiting for a client to deliver the consignment, informed police inspector Harish Madkaikar. Police received a tip off that the accused will arrive at the spot with narcotic substance to strike a deal with a prospective customer and based on the leads, a police team headed by LPSI Rifa Barreto nabbed the accused.

LPSI Rifa Barreto, PSI Melson Colaco, Hawaldar Jitendra Gaude, PC Kedarnath Jalmi, and Suraj Gaude were part of the team. Further investigation is in progress.
