23,267 new voters in Goa

PANAJI: After special summary revision of electoral rolls was undertaken, some    23,267 new voters were added and the names of 13,744 electors were deleted.

As per the final photo electoral rolls published by the chief electoral office on Friday, there are a total of 11,26,732 voters in the state as against 11,17,209 voters as on September 1, 2018.

As per the special summary revision, which was conducted from September 1, 2018 to October 31, 2018, the total number of voters in the state is 11,26,732  – there are 5,20,360 voters   in North Goa and 6,06,372 voters in South Goa.

The revised electoral rolls say that the number of voters in the poll-bound Mandrem and Shiroda assembly constituencies has increased from 31,437 to 31,834 and from 28,377 to 28,723 respectively.

A press release issued on Friday stated that the final photo electoral rolls with reference to January 1, 2019 as the qualifying date was published and made available at all designated location/polling stations of the assembly constituencies in Goa.

People and political parties have been urged to verify names and details on the electoral roll 2019 published on January 18, 2019.

The continuous updation of the electoral roll is going on and the claims and objection can be filed online www.nvsp.in or submitted to the election returning officers offline through block level officers.
