The Institute of Engineers (India), Goa chapter, will be holding a national seminar, RERA: A change management exercise, on August 18 and August 19.
The seminar will emphasise on the need to standardise the regulations in the real estate sector and create awareness among consumers about the regulations in the Act.
Briefing about the seminar, Gurunath M Naik Parrikar, chairman, IEI, said “Lack of standardisation has been a constraint to the healthy and orderly growth of the industry.”
Others present at the briefing included Deepak Karmalkar, secretary and Datta Kare, convenor.
The seminar is expected to be attended by 150 delegates that include corporate members of IEI, civil engineers, PWD engineers, architects, chartered accountants, lawyers, builders and consumers.
The institute has also invited 20 students from various colleges across the state from law, engineering and commerce background.
Some of the areas the seminar will cover include homebuyer’s protection under RERA, necessity of real estate regulation and development Act, 2016 and shortcoming of RERA.
The two day event will consist of four technical sessions and panel discussions that will be headed by experts from the field.
A souvenir consisting of abstracts of the technical papers submitted by academia, scholars, engineers, and builders among other experts will also be released on the occasion.
