The state health department has quarantined 14 high risk people who were in contact with three people who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“We have tracked down all high risk people and quarantined them at a government facility,” said a senior government official speaking to ‘The Navhind Times’.
The official informed that the directorate of health services is currently tracing the co-passengers of the infected person who had travelled with them in the same flight.
It may be recalled that the three persons with a history of travel to Spain, Australia and the US were tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.
The reports of their blood and throat swab samples received from the laboratory of the Kasturba Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Mumbai, confirmed that they are infected with the virus which originated from China’s Wuhan city.
These are the first cases of the dreaded COVID-19 in the state.
