Started with the notion of sharing ideas and concepts at its crux, the first conference of TEDxBITSGoa was held in 2010. And the 2020 edition is now all set to be held on January 26, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the auditorium of BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus.

Part of the organising team for TEDxBITSGoa, Arjit Verma says that TEDxBITSGoa, strive to uphold that ideology and hope to bring together inspirational individuals from all walks of life together.

“Each year, the conference becomes a rich source of ideas for both professionals and students alike, as the stage acts as a seamless interface between the audience and the speaker sharing their idea,” says Verma adding that it is an entirely student-run event. Verma says that this year being the 11th year, the conference is now the longest running institutional TEDx conference in India.

Verma further adds that they aim to spread inspiration and encouragement by presenting a diverse line-up of speakers, whose ‘Eureka Moments’ have transformed into breakthroughs that are changing spaces around us. “In celebration of this spirit, the theme for TEDxBITSGoa 2020 is ‘Youreka’,” says Verma. The previous themes included, ‘Flip the Script,’ ‘Unherd,’ and ‘Rewired.’

Apart from a huge attendance from students of BITS Goa, other students and professionals also make their way to the campus for the conference. “We have students from Goan schools and colleges attending the conference as well as a significant amount of professionals who seek to expand their horizon of thoughts and take something away from a day of inspirational talks,” says Verma.
