CURCHOREM: Around 11 persons, including some women and children, were stung by bees at Cacumoddi on Saturday afternoon.
Sources informed that someone disturbed a hive, which was hanging from a portion of a two-wheeler showroom situated along the main Curchorem-Quepem road, due to which the bees went berserk.
The security guard of the showroom, who was sitting outside the premises, got 30 stings from the bee attack.
A LIC employee Jyoti Bakshi from Pontemol, who had come to the showroom, was also severely stung. The bees also attacked two-wheeler riders passing along the road. As many as 11 persons were stung by the bees. They had to be admitted to Kakoda community health centre.
The doctor on duty Abhinav Naik informed that all the persons were given saline water and were kept under observation as they complained of headache and some were vomiting.
